In fact, Giclée is a French term meaning “to spray”, referring to how an inkjet printer works. Giclée prints are usually produced on large format inkjet printers that use small spraying devices. These can both match colour and apply ink precisely, giving a high-quality print of their the original art. In fact, it’s hard to discern a difference between original and print. That is, until you consider the much lower price of the print! It is an economic way to share art as Christmas gifts.
