About Jill
Jill Jones FRSA is a full-time professional artist. She works with light and colour magnificently. Inspired by the large skies and ever-changing tones of the vibrant seasons in the very wildest of West Wales, she creates immersive Welsh landscapes bathed in moonlight or drenched in all the shades of the sun, together with the most welcoming and rewarding seawater studies in her dynamic oil paintings and acrylic works.
From capturing a sense of the past to the excitement of what is in future skies, it’s all reflected in the many and various works produced by Jill.
Driven by enthusiasm, she is fiercely proud to display her artistic talent across various subjects, and definitely not the kind of painter who creates one style only!
She originally trained in fine art, then design. Post-degree, she had a successful career in commercial art, but now, having returned to her first love, painting, she concentrates on producing fine works of art. She also welcomes commissions (for details see ‘Commissions’ in the above navigation).
Jill works in her custom-built facility, West Coast Studio, in Talbenny, near Little Haven in Pembrokeshire. The studio also acts as a gallery for many of her original paintings and visitors are welcome to call in and browse originals, prints and greetings cards 7 days a week (10am – 3pm).
She also exhibits at the following Welsh art galleries: Life: Full Colour Gallery in Caernarfon, Oriel Llanteglos, Pure Art Gallery in Milford Haven, Heritage Centre, Llanwrtyd, Oriel Glasfryn near Mold, Ty Crefft in Narberth, Oriel Ger y Fenai, Anglesey and In addition, you can find some of her works in the ‘Domus’ shop at St David’s Cathedral.
Both in 2024 and also for 2025, Jill’s work has been selected for the Open Show at the Royal Cambrian Academy in Conwy.
